Is there a correlation between entrepreneurial success and a founder’s educational background? A survey conducted by the Kauffman Foundation attempted to find out. Below is a visual representation of the results.

Arizona in summer is known for dashboard-melting afternoons and low temperatures that top some other states’ highs. But there’s more to the state than cactus and heat, and the Grand Canyon is hardly the only place worth visiting this time of year.
Flagstaff, at about 7,000 feet above sea level, is more like the Rocky Mountains than the desert, with towering peaks, pine trees and mild temperatures. Heck, you might even need a jacket.
Flagstaff also makes a great jumping-off point for other major regional attractions. In addition to the Grand Canyon 90 minutes north, the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest are driving distance toward the east, and Hoover Dam isn’t too far away heading west.

Secret Millionaire invests £250K in music website

The founder of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, who appeared on Channel 4′s The Secret Millionaire and judged the England heat of BusinessZone.co.uk’s The Pitch 2011, has backed the site that allows users to discover other people’s music via Spotify playlists.   The website claims to be the largest of its kind in the UK with 400 new members joining every day and 100 playlists uploaded.   Pearson said: “I am hugely excited about this investment opportunity. It represents everything that inspires me about the newly emerging media platforms that the internet can offer.   “ShareMyPlayLists.com is already gaining huge traction and it one to watch in the social music space.”   The investment is Pearson’s second in as many months. Daniel Howes: ‘Live Downtown’ can reshape city’s future

The next time Mayor Dave Bing whines that business isn’t doing enough to help Detroit, remember two words — “Live Downtown.”

Here are five prominent downtown employers — Quicken Loans Inc., Compuware Corp., DTE Energy Co., Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Strategic Staffing Solutions Inc. — committing to offer 16,000 eligible employees as much as $20,000 each in forgivable loans toward the purchase of a home or condo downtown.

New renters in the city would receive as much as $2,500 toward their first year’s rent, according to the Downtown Detroit Partnership, and $1,000 in the second year. Existing homeowners could apply to receive as much as $5,000 in matching funds on renovation projects valued at $10,000 or more.
