Secret Millionaire invests £250K in music website

The founder of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, who appeared on Channel 4′s The Secret Millionaire and judged the England heat of BusinessZone.co.uk’s The Pitch 2011, has backed the site that allows users to discover other people’s music via Spotify playlists. The website claims to be the largest of its kind in the UK with 400 new members joining every day and 100 playlists uploaded. Pearson said: “I am hugely excited about this investment opportunity. It represents everything that inspires me about the newly emerging media platforms that the internet can offer. “ShareMyPlayLists.com is already gaining huge traction and it one to watch in the social music space.” The investment is Pearson’s second in as many months. In May he put the same amount into citizen journalism platform Blottr. MyVoucherCodes, which alerts users to discounts and offers, had sales of £481m in the last year.
