Apple’s fiscal Q3 profit more than doubles

That’s compared to net income of $3.3 billion, or $3.51 per diluted share, on revenue of $15.7 billion for the same quarter last year.

Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) reported selling 20.3 million iPhones during the quarter, which is up 142 percent from the same quarter last year. Apple also sold 9.3 million iPads during that time, up 183 percent, and 3.9 million Mac computers, up 14 percent from the previous third quarter. Meanwhile, the company sold only 7.5 million iPods, which is down 20 percent compared to the previous third quarter.
